Salman Khan was a shy kid, Arbaaz Khan a 'regular seducer', says Javed Akhtar

Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar were present at the trailer launch of the docu-series ‘Angry Young Men’. It was at the event that Javed Akhtar spoke about Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan and how they were as kids. While Akhtar called Salman Khan a ‘shy, quiet’ kid, he called Arbaaz Khan ‘regular seducer’.

Addressing the audience present at the launch, Javed Akhtar said, “Our kids told such amazing things about us today. But they were very young and they don't remember much. We do.”

He then recalled, “When I had met Salim saab for the first time, Salman wasn't even one year old. It was the year 1965. He's really handsome today but he has been beautiful ever since he was a child. He was an exceptionally good-looking child. There was a small black and white photograph of him in their living room. I don't know if it's still there ya phir kho gayi hai, pata nahi (or it’s lost, I don’t know). The other children were born in front of me. Today, Salman is the he-man and this dashing



hero but he was a very shy and quiet child who spoke very less. Jo badmaash bachcha tha, woh tha Arbaaz (The naughty kid was Arbaaz).”

To this, Arbaaz waved to the audience and Javed Akhtar continued, “He was a regular seducer. He would befriend Salim saab's friends and build a special relationship with them. Arbaaz doesn't remember the things he did as a child. When people would mingle with him, he would think ki yeh toh bada kamaal ka bachcha hai (that he is a great kid). Arbaaz would never have messy hair even as a child. Even at the age of six, he would comb his hair. Imagine a six year old doing that! I never saw something like that. He had a lot of self-love.”

'Angry Young Men' is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on August 20.
