Wed 09 Aug 2017, 10:52:31
Hundreds of citizens who depend on MMTS trains for commuting to work everyday will be forced to make alternate plans as several trains will be cancelled or partially cancelled on August 9, 11and 13 due to ongoing Metro Rail work.

With the Metro work gathering pace between Secunderabad and Lallaguda stations on Secunderabad Kazipet section, scores of professionals depending on the MMTS network will have their task cut out looking for autos and buses to reach their place of work.

On an average, 1.5 lakh passengers use the MMTS services daily , especially to travel from

suburban areas towards various parts of the city. During peak hours, MMTS trains run to full capacity with each train transporting nearly 1,240 passengers, which translates to a lot of pressure on the road network and buses on these particular days.

A total of 12 MMTS and DEMU trains have been cancelled, five have been partially cancelled and two are rescheduled.

“This will cause grave inconvenience to passengers like me who take the Lingampalli Falaknuma MMTS from Secunderabad daily. It is going to be a tough fight to reach the workplace.
