TSRTC bus fares revised

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has revised bus fares by resorting to round figures. The minimum fare of TSRTC buses comes down to Rs.5 from Rs.7. However, people will have to shell out Rs.5 more for the next 19 stages. Each stage is spread over 2 km. 

For instance, if a person travels four km in a city ordinary bus, he or she will have to spend Rs.10, instead of Rs.8. Meanwhile, a



person travelling a distance of 10 kms will have to give Rs.10, instead of Rs.11. For those travelling the longest distance of 40 kms will have to pay Rs.30, instead of Rs.28.

The fare has been revised because the ticket collector does not have sufficient change to return. The new fares will burn hole in the pocket of passengers using metro express and metro deluxe services.
