At least 21 passengers were injured after an EMU local hit the buffer of a platform at the Sealdah terminal station in Kolkata on Wednesday, said reports.
The Down Sonarpur-Sealdah local train was derailed due to the accident which occurred at platform number 13 at Sealdah station.
The derailed coaches of the the suburban train tilted from their position and came in contact with the coaches of another train standing on platform number 14.

train is supposed to stop four to five metres before the buffer, but despite being at a very slow speed, it overshot and hit the buffer,' PTI quoted Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Sealdah, Basudev Panda, as saying.
Sixteen injured passengers were rushed to B.R. Singh Railway hospital while five others were taken to NRS Medical College and hospital.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident and the driver of the train has been suspended.
