Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has charged the Centre of harassing and discriminating against Telangana by not releasing financial assistance for crop loss and other damage caused due to heavy rains and floods.

AIMIM MLC Syed Aminul Hassan Jafri urged the Telangana State Legislature Council Chairman to ensure that a resolution is passed the Upper House seeking financial assistance from the BJP government at the Centre.

Speaking in the Legislative Council, the AIMIM MLC Syed Aminul Hassan Jafri said while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi

led BJP Government at the Centre has been extending additional financial assistance to BJP governed states, out of turn, it has been harassing Telangana and not giving deserved financial help.

Normally, central assistance is announced as soon the central teams return to Delhi after assessing the damage in the state. But this did not happen in the case of Telangana. The finance commission earmarks huge money tobe given to the states in case of natural calamities, but the central government is discriminating against Telangana, Jaftri alleged.
