The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen won three seats in the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra. The elections were held last month and the AIMIM contested for six seats from two panels in the corporation. “Three of our party men won the seats in Mehroon ward of the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation. A total of six members had contested the elections from two wards and
three have won,” said Raheal Bin Mohammed, AIMIM in-charge of Jalgaon.
The party had contested in the elections in the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation for the first time. The Bhartiya Janata Party won the polls by bagging 57 seats. The AIMIM candidate who won the seats are Riyaz Abdul Kareem Baghwan, Sunna Raju Deshmukh and Sayeeda Bee.
