Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi, Floor Leader of MIM and MLA representing Chandrayangutta Assembly Constituency told that the Muslims of India can't forget the demolition of Babri Masjid. He also said that the Muslims of this era will remind the next generation about this issue since it is their constitutional right to keep the younger generation abreast of the events.
While addressing a protest meeting organized at Murad Nagar to mark the 27th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid, Mr. Owaisi told that the demolition of Babri Masjid is not only an attack on the Constitution of India and Secularism but also the violation of the assurance given to the Supreme Court. The Muslims of India believe that the Masjid should be rebuilt at the same place, he added.
He announced that on 6th December, peaceful 'Bandh' will be observed and no one will be forced to keep his shop closed. On that day, the Muslims will take a vow that they would inhabit masajid by regularly performing 'namaz' and recitation of the Quran.
The Muslims of India not only expressed their wrath on the demolition of Babri Masjid but are also asking as to when the persons responsible for its demolition would get punishment.
Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi supported the stand taken by All India Muslim Personal Law Board for filing Review Petition in the Supreme Court.
He mentioned that even after many injustices done to the Muslims during the past 70 years, they have faith in the judiciary of this country.
The meeting was also addressed by various Muslim scholars and Ulema.
The protest meeting continued despite rain which had started after the commencement of the
meeting.
The resolution presented by Maulana Mohammed Raheemuddin Ansari, President of the United Muslim Forum was approved unanimously by the audience.
Mr. Owaisi in his speech pointed out that Babri Masjid was demolished as the result of an organized and well-planned conspiracy. He added that the main objective of this conspiracy was to divide the people of India on the basis of religion.
RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal and their political wing, BJP came forward to sow the seeds of hatred among the people of this country in the name of religion.
Mr. L.K. Advani, through his 'Rath Yatra', sowed these seeds which resulted in communal riots. The business and trade activities of the Muslims were targeted.
Mr. Owaisi recalled that the then Govt. of UP led by Mr. Kalyan Singh had given an assurance that at the disputed place, only 'Karseva' would be performed and the Masjid will not be touched.
Talking about the assurances given at that time, Mr. Owaisi said that at that time, an assurance was also given to the Parliament that the safety of the Masjid would be assured. Even an affidavit was filed in the Supreme Court of India that nothing will happen to Babri Masjid.
Mr. Owaisi asked that if he raises this question, it is construed as contempt of court but what about those who cheated the Supreme Court despite filing an affidavit.
After demolishing the Masjid, idols were installed and 'pooja' was started. Expressing his anguish on the current situation, he said that if the Muslims of India raise the voice of protest, they are being labelled as the enemies of the nation.
