Muzaffarnagar: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday condemned the alleged violence in Tripura and asked the Centre to immediately take action. “We condemn violence against Muslims which is going on in the state of Tripura, Narendra Modi government should immediately take action. Save Tripura Muslims,” tweeted Owaisi.
The Hyderabadi leader also launched a scathing attack on BJP's central and state leaderships, and the Samajwadi Party. He took a swipe at local ex-BSP MP Qadir Rana for shaving his beard. Rana had recently joined the SP.
Addressing a public gathering near the city's Bajhedi village, Owaisi said, The people of Muzaffarnagar had to face riots during the SP rule. This riot was more frightening than the post-Independence partition. People were forced to leave their homes. The SP did not take any steps
to provide justice to the victims.
Owaisi then questioned the Prime Minister for his silence over violence in Tripura. In Tripura, religious places were harmed. Why is the BJP government silent? It the PM cannot speak, at least he can tweet, he added.
Members of a right-wing group had allegedly damaged a place of worship and a few shops belonging to the minority community in a north Tripura district while protesting against the communal violence which broke out during Durga Puja in neighbouring Bangladesh.
Referring to Pakistan's victory over India in the Dubai T20 World Cup, Owaisi said. "The politics of Hindu and Muslim is everywhere. Out of 11 players, only Mohammed Shami is being singled out and blamed for India's defeat. I strongly condemn it.
