Asaduddin Owaisi accuses Amit Shah of making false statements on Manipur

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday accused Union home minister Amit Shah of making false statements on the ongoing violence in Manipur.

In a tweet, Owaisi, who is also the Hyderabad MP, said that Amit Shah had said that the Manipur video of a mob assaulting two women was a conspiracy to embarrass the Narendra



Modi government and was "leaked" on the eve of the Parliament session.

"The violence in Manipur has been going on since May, the video is months old. But the action was only taken after it went viral. Modi government is always more concerned about its image, and not about the dignity of Kuki women. What a shame," Owaisi said.
