Aurangabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday announced that all his party MLAs, upon getting elected, will support Maratha reservation in the state legislative assembly.
Janab Asaduddin Owaisi was addressing a rally in Naregaon of Aurangabad East from where party candidate and former MP Imtiaz Jaleel is contesting agianst incumbent BJP MLA and housing minister Atul Save.
Owaisi said that When quota activist Manoj Jarange faced lathi charge from the police, Save was the district guardian minister. But he did not visit Jarange. I want to ask, why did he not go? We want to konw what prevented you from going to meet Jarange. I am giving out a message to the Marathas that all Majlis MLAs that get elected in the upcoming polls will support the Maratha reservation. I want to tell the Maratha community that we will fight for the Marathas, and believe that they should get reservation. Marathas should think whether PM Modi and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis will give them reservation.
He
also challenged Fadnavis to take the name of Jarange in his speeches. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Fadnavis have realised that their government is not going to win. Hence, they have started polarisaing people in the name of Hindus and Muslims. I appeal to people not to get polarised in the name of religion, he said.
The state government may have renamed this city, but they failed to speak a word about the 250 farmers who committed suicide in Marathwada in the first six months of 2024, he said. Speaking about the Ladki Bahin scheme, Owaisi said. This government is boasting about paying Rs.1,500 to the sisters, but at the same time is robbing them of over Rs.2,000 by inflating the prices of every day articles.
Owaisi said that Samajwadi Party has fielded candidates against Majlis candidates in different parts of the state. People should not forget that the Muzaffarnagar riots, which left over 50,000 people homeless for several months, took place when Akhilesh Yadav was the chief minister, he said.
