AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday instructed party observers to prepare a shortlist of constituencies from where it can field candidates in the ensuing Assembly elections in West Bengal.
He took stock of the political scenario with observers who recently toured various districts in West Bengal. The team members individually submitted their reports to the party president. Owaisi has planned to tour the state and address public meetings. He asked the observers to revisit the areas and explore suitable candidates. The team was send to interact with people and take feedback from local socio-political and religious leaders over the political situation.
According to sources, Owaisi enquired about the strength of the main political parties in certain
districts from where the party is contemplating to contest. Party observers updated him about the trends in Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum and South 24 Parganas districts.
Owaisi enquired about their population ratio, strength of political parties, influential personalities and distribution of votes in each constituency. He asked his team members to prepare a list of influential personalities to bring them into the party fold.
The review meeting was attended by the in-charge of West Bengal affairs Mohammed Majid Hussain, Khaja Bilal Ahmed, Mirza Saleem Baig, Samad bin Abdat, Abrar Mohiuddin, Mohammed Aleem, Hannan Khan, Sarfaraz Ali, Zakir Baqari, Mohammed Naseeruddin, Zafar Khan,Manzoor Khan and Misbahuddin.
