All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi reacted to the viral video and said that it is shameful that a Maharashtra Mosque is being attacked in police presence.

"Sir @Dev_Fadnavis will LAW take its own course ?shameful that a Masjid is attacked in the presence of Police," Owaisi said in a post on X.

A video has gone viral from Maharashtra where a group of people can be seen attempting to forcibly enter the gate of a mosque in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra.

The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday, where a mob chanted slogans and tried to break into the gates of Jama Masjid in Rajapur. The video shows the crowd carrying



'Shimga' (a wooden structure) and trying to push it against the gate of the mosque.

The Police personnel and mosque authorities were seen pushing the group of people away from the Mosque premises. The incident unfolded on Wednesday evening during the Taraweeh prayer, which the Muslims observe during the Holy month of Ramadan.

This year, the Holi celebrations is being celebrated on March 14 (Friday), which also happens to be the day of Friday prayers for Muslims.

While the people kept raising slogans and attempted to break into the Mosque, the police were seen controlling the people.
