Kanpur: National President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Asaduddin Owaisi reached Kanpur on Sunday. Addressing a rally here, he said that in the first weddings in India, Muslims were made to play band-baza but they were not allowed to enter the wedding. The situation of Muslims in politics is also similar.
Owaisi said that only the voice of power is heard in politics. Only those who have representatives like MPs or MLAs are heard. The rest are discarded. He was addressing a public meeting at Aqeel Compound, Jajmau.
The AIMIM president said that Muslims have become like the band party of the procession, who are first asked to play the baja, but are stopped outside when the groom reaches his destination. Now the Muslim band will not play, we will play the jamhooriyat ka baaja.
AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi said, ‘Now Muslims will not play band-baja. Even every caste has a leader, but Muslims have no leader. The Muslim population in UP is 19 per cent, but they do not have a single leader. I wish there should be 100 Muslim leaders in UP before I
die.
Owaisi said that the Muslims of Uttar Pradesh will have to decide whether in 2022 they will become just voters or become leaders. We won’t have to be the bandwagon. The society from which there is a leader, that society is respected, but Muslims have no leader. Muslims will have to vote unitedly.
The AIMIM chief said that he took the decision to hold the rally in Kanpur because the police had shot in the chest of Mohammad Raees, Mohammad Aftab Alam and Mohammad Saif in December 2020. He was martyred.
He lost Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. The reason being, Muslims did not vote for him. Rahul won in Wayanad, Kerala because Muslims had voted for him. Describing the law of CAA as a black law, the bill was torn in the Parliament. He also opposed the UAPA bill. Congress and Samajwadi Party supported this bill.
Owaisi said that if Muslims do not wake up, there will be loss. The police sent Maulana Kalim Siddiko to jail, but Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party and socialists did not say anything. They are afraid of losing their votes.
