All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday called on people to be wary of BJP’s attempts to create hatred among communities in the city for political gains.

Addressing public meetings in Karwan and Nampally constituencies, Owaisi attacked the BJP for saying that they would use bulldozers in the Old City.

"Be careful of people who spit poison like this," he said, referring to Union minister G. Kishan Reddy’s remarks on Wednesday that once the BJP comes to power in Telangana, it would use

bulldozers to demolish homes of goondas in the Old City.

"The hatred in their hearts is now coming out. These people seek to defame Majlis. Show them what we all stand for," he said.

Referring to the recent fire incident in Bazarghat, Owaisi said that the first people to reach the scene were MIM workers who, without worrying about their own safety, rescued more than 15 people, including a two-year-old child. "We did not ask what their religion was when they were rescued. Some of them were Hindus," he said.
