Losing important defence files only shows a political failure in governance: Asaduddin Owaisi

Attacking the Narendra Modi government, Hyderabad Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi, on Thursday said that the series of terror strikes and losing important defence files only shows a political failure and chaos in governance.

“What lessons has the government learnt after Pulwama ? Why is our intelligence system failing in detecting and stopping these people ? So this is an intelligence failure and a political failure,” Owaisi told reporters in Hyderabad city. “At the end of the day, the government is answerable, and the government should also tell that these are the people who will be made accountable, for not rising up to the expectation, and for not performing their duties. This is also very important,” said Owaisi, whose party along with the TRS , is



eyeing a role in national politics after the Lok Sabha polls. Referring to the Pulwama blast, Owaisi asked the BJP government to fix accountability. “There is Governor raj, but the government is yours. So why are you hiding? How did RDX reach Pulwama ? They don’t want to talk about it,” he said.

Reacting on the government’s confession that documents related to the Rafale deal were stolen from the defence ministry, Asaduddin put the blame squarely on the Modi government and asked: “If the government is not able to safeguard one file, it shows their competence or their incompetence ? Why didn’t the defence minister, when she stood up to reply in parliament, did not say that a file has been stolen.”
