All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday dismissed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise of the BJP making a BC leader as Telangana state chief minister, and questioned his silence on BJP leaders threatening to remove OBC reservations for Muslims.

Speaking to reporters during his door-to-door campaign for MIM candidate Mohd Majid Hussain in Nampally constituency, Owaisi, referring to replacement of Bandi Sanjay Kumar by G. Kishan Reddy as the state BJP president, he said the BJP

removed a BC leader as state party chief and appointed a person from the upper castes.

"Modi’s comments on BCs and OBCs, are mere words aimed to please the listeners but there is no intent on his part to anything on this front. In Karnataka, RSS and BJP supported reduction of reservations for OBCs and Muslims, and in Telangana, the same party says it will remove reservations for Muslims. And Modi’s Cabinet is mostly filled with MPs from the upper castes," Owaisi said.
