AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said that the Modi government was implementing schemes that increase the poverty of the poor. "It is an enemy of two-wheeler riders, autorickshaw and lorry drivers. The BJP forgot that these sections mainly participate in the voting process," he said.
Owaisi said 38 percent central taxes had been levied on petroleum products and asked the government to decrease taxes up to 10 per cent to ease prices. The government has forgotten the plight of the poor, he said adding that women who got cylinders under the government's schemes were not able to purchase a refill.
Owaisi was speaking to the media while announcing that his party has struck a pact with Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam of T.V.V. Dinakaran.
The MIM will be contesting three seats Vaniyambadi, Krishnagiri and Sankarapuram.
He claimed that there were attempts to isolate the MIM in political circles, but contended that the party would proceed on its own. Many political parties are refraining from us, for some parties we are untouchable.
Reacting to the incident of communal violence in Bhainsa, he said, We always appeal for peace and tranquility. I have already warned the Telangana government that there is a need to monitor the situation in the undivided Nizamabad and Adilabad districts. Except for two incidents, peace has prevailed all over Telangana despite communal and fascist forces indulging in the provocation.
