The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen party has demanded that the special session of Parliament should discuss the occupation of 2000 sq km of Indian land by China, with Asaduddin Owaisi, the party president saying he hopes Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also take part in a full fledged discussion on this issue.

Reacting to the announcement of the special session, Owaisi said the government knows best why it has called for the session just a short period after the completion of the monsoon session.

On reports that the government would likely introduce Bills on ‘One Nation-One Election’, and the Uniform Civil Code, Owaisi said if this is done it would be unconstitutional, and in any case the BJP does not have majority in the

Rajya Sabha.

With respect to the possibility of an early election, he said it was up to the BJP government to take a decision adding: "We are ready for elections whenever they come."

He also said the Prime Minister, who comes from the OBC community, must introduce a Bill to breach the 50% reservations cap in the coming session.

Owaisi said among the other demands of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) for the special session are an invitation to all ISRO scientists and athlete Neeraj Chopra to honour them for their achievements, along with an invitation to the Indian cricket team headed for the World Cup tournament to encourage the team members.
