AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and blamed his ‘jhula diplomacy’ for the failure.
Owaisi questioned the government’s move to order Rs.630 crores worth of bullet-proof vests from China at a time when Beijing was refusing to cooperate with New Delhi to get Azhar listed as a global terrorist.
“When a country (China) is not cooperating with us in blacklisting a terrorist, why are we purchasing the vests for our Army from
them. Where is our nationalism? Where has our self-respect gone,” he sought to know. Urging the government to cancel the order, the Hyderabad MP said: “Is China the only country from where we can purchase these vests? Can’t we get them from any other country? This is a failure of Modi’s jhula diplomacy.”
Owaisi also slammed the Centre on its Mudra scheme data and said that the government had exposed itself as “the scheme had merely remained on paper.”
