AIMIM chief and MP, Asaduddin Owaisi, on Wednesday called upon the Pakistani government to ensure that captured Indian pilot, Abhinandan Varthaman, is not harmed. A video released by Pakistan media showed Abhinandan being beaten up by a mob. As the video went viral on social media, Owaisi said that article 3 of the Geneva Conventions should be followed.

“Our prayers are with the brave IAF pilot & his family. Under Article 3 of Geneva Conventions, every party is required to treat prisoners humanely. Pakistan must respect its

obligations towards the IAF pilot, regardless of ongoing circumstances,” tweeted Owaisi.

Minutes after Owaisi extended support to the family members of wing commander Abhinandan, netizens joined to seek peace and harmony. “We have been trying to have dialogue for peace since 70 years. What if Pakistan establishment is not really keen on acting against terrorist organization like Jaish operating from its soil. 26/ 11, Uri, Pulwama, we don't need more,” tweeted Rajat Arora.
