Hyderabad: Reacting to the rupee falling again on Friday, AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had vowed in 2014 to make the Indian rupee at par with the US dollar.

Taking to twitter, he said one US dollar today equalled Rs 81-- a fall of 25 per cent in five years. Saying the gap between imports and exports was rising, he said ever more dependent on imports despite calls for

'atmanirbharta'.

Stock markets are not showing any promise. Mutual Funds are down from Rs 20,000 crore per month to Rs. 6,000 crore per month. FIIs have sold some $40 billion in the past year, Owaisi said.

Rich people are fleeing the country, taking up nationalities of Portugal, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.

I guess we will reach Rs. 100 to one USD very soon, he added.
