All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen will contest on 12 to 15 seats in Gujarat assembly elections which is going to be held in two phases and finalising of candidates names are in the last stage. Janab Imtiyaz Jaleel, Member of Parliament, said this during the meeting with newspaper reporters. He told that All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP was announced to contest election on 30 assembly seats in Gujarat but after they decided to contest on only seats where we have Muslim dominated areas and backward class people living.
Political analysts told that the big political parties are feeling embarrassment after Majlis president Asaduddin Owaisi has decided to contest elections from Gujarat
Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi is eyeing on the Gujarat assembly election seats are from Abdasa, Mandavi, Bhuj, Anjaar,
Gandhidham, Kutch, Banaskantha, Wadgam district, Sidpur, Patan district and five Muslim dominated areas in Ahmedabad.
In the Majlis list other than that Devbhumi Dwarka's Kheda, Junagadh, Panch Mahal, Gar Somnath, Bharunch, Surat, Aravali, Jamnagar, Anand and Surendra Nagar seats are included.
Analysts said that Owais selects the constituency where 30 to 60 percents Muslim voters living. Barrister Owaisi have large number of fans of young Muslim community. There are lot of chances to get the Muslim vote.
In Gujarat, Municipal Corporations elections were held in February 2021. AIMIM was contested in so many wards. At that time, 26 AIMIM candidates won the elections in different wards. AIMIM had won seven Ahmedabad seats, 6 from Godhra, 9 from Modasa and one seat from Bharuch.
