The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Monday announced two more candidates for the Assembly elections. Party president Asaduddin Owaisi named Belli Ravi Yadav, a former corporator from Langar Houz, as its nominee from Rajendranagar constituency, and Mohammed Rashed Farazuddin, the Shaikpet corporator, from Jubilee Hills.
The party is contesting from nine constituencies in all – Chandrayangutta, Charminar, Yakutpura, Nampally, Malakpet, Karwan, Jubilee Hills, Rajendranagar, and Bahadurpura. It is yet to announce its nominee for the last
two.
Addressing a public meeting at First Lancer in Nampally constituency late in the evening, Owaisi dismissed any talk of any one from MIM leaving the party and joining another party. Referring to rumours of MIM Charminar MLA Mumtaz Khan was planning to join Congress as he was not given the ticket this time, Owaisi said, "Rumours will be rumours. No one is leaving the MIM."
He said with Ravi Yadav’s nomination there will be worry in the Congress, BRS, and the BJP. "We too can spring surprises, we too understand politics," he said.
