MIM campaign intensifies in Old City

Thu 22 Nov 2018, 13:19:54
The political heat in the once walled parts of Hyderabad city has started to rise with all the political parties seeking to intensify their poll campaigns. Apart from padayatras, public meetings and group meetings, campaigning on social media too has become the order of the day in all the seven constituencies that are termed as Old City areas.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeem (AIMIM) party has been holding its ground in the Old City for decades and already has seven of its legislators representing six of the seven constituencies, with the exception being Goshamahal.

The Chandrayangutta seat represented by the AIMIM former floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in the previous four terms so far is yet to witness much activity from his opponents and BJP candidate

Shehzadi Begum too has not actively started to reach out to her electorate.

Yakutpura constituency is witnessing AIMIM candidate and party general secretary, Ahmed Pasha Quadri locking horns with Majlis Bachao Tehreek candidate Majeedullah Khan alias Farhath Khan. Both the candidates are leaving no stone unturned to reach out to the voters with various programmes in the constituency.

Bahadurpura constituency last time had the AIMIM scoring an impressive victory with its nominee Mohd Moazam Khan registering a thumping majority. This time too, Mohd Moazam Khan hopes to easily sail through the hustings.

The Nampally constituency is witnessing a serious campaign by AIMIM candidate Jaffar Hussain Meraj.
