Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday accused BJP and Congress of competing over “Hindutva politics”.
Speaking at ISB leadership summit ‘The Journey to 2019’ on Sunday, Asaduddin Owaisi questioned spending taxpayers’ money on cow protection and cleaning up Ganga for religious sentiment rather than for environmental concern.
“The Modi regime is trying to present Hindu nationalism which is exclusive rather than inclusive Indian nationalism. Following in the footsteps of BJP in welcoming and garlanding terror suspects and people involved in lynching, Congress also welcomed them. This is how both the parties are competing over Hindutva politics. There is real competition in visiting temples. If Modi goes to one temple, Rahul goes to another.
Now, we have to see Modi doing Mansarovar Yatra. We don’t want acceh din (good days). We are praying for burhe din (bad days) to come so that the Modi government goes,” Owaisi added.
“We will support BJP government if it takes back Pandits to Kashmir. BJP hasn’t taken even a Pandit back. We have been advocating against Haj subsidy for 11 years. Recently, Supreme Court struck down Haj subsidy. Haj subsidy has stopped, but Mansarovar Yatra is still on,” the MP said.
“We want a coalition government at the Centre in 2019. Development takes place only in a coalition government. Regional parties should ensure that Modi doesn't become PM again or else he will create more disasters,” he added.
