The domestic air passengers grew by 23.17 percent during Jan-Sept 2016 as the airlines carried 726.98 lakhs passengers as against 590.21 lakhs during the corresponding period of previous year.
According to traffic data submitted by various domestic airlines for the month of September, 2016, this high growth rate has been achieved in spite of the fact that the passenger load factor in the month of Sept 2016 almost remained constant compared
to previous month primarily due to the end of tourist season.The air traffic data indicates that he overall cancellation rate of scheduled domestic airlines for the month of Sept 2016 has been 0.42 percent.
During September 2016, a total of 728 passenger related complaints had been received by the scheduled domestic airlines. The number of complaints per 10,000 passengers carried for the month of September 2016 has been 0.9.
