The government has enhanced the agricultural credit target to 16.5 lakh crore rupees in next fiscal with focus on ensuring increased credit flows to animal husbandry, dairy, and fisheries.

Government has also enhanced the allocation to the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund from 30,000 to 40,000 crore rupees.

It has enlarged the scope of Operation Green Scheme to include 22 perishable products besides tomatoes, onions, and potatoes.

Government has also decided to integrate 1,000 more mandis with e-NAM to ensure transparency and competitiveness in the agricultural market.

The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund will be made available to APMCs for augmenting their infrastructure facilities.

Jal Jeevan Mission (Urban) will be launched to provide universal water supply in all 4,378 Urban Local Bodies with 2.86 crore household tap connections to be implemented over 5 years, with an outlay of 2 lakh 87 thousand crores.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has  hailed Union Budget 2021 as agriculture sector friendly and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi



for his devotion towards the welfare of farmers.

In a statement,  the Home Minister said, preparing the budget this year against the backdrop of the Corona (Covid-19) pandemic was definitely a very complex task. But, under the guidance of Narendra Modi, Nirmala Sitharaman has presented an all-encompassing budget which opens the path towards fulfilling the Prime Minister’s pledge for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, a $5 trillion economy and doubling the income of farmers

He also talked about the allocation of funds in the budget for providing loans easily to the farmers. Mr.Shah further said that the procurement of paddy crop at Minimum Support Prices (MSP) has been doubled for the year, which has benefited 1.5 crore farmers of the country. 

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an Agricultural Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC) to conserve agricultural output and improve infrastructure in the Union Budget 2021-22 . The Finance Minister also announced an enhanced allocation to the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund from Rs 30,000 crore to Rs 40,000 crore.
