In a significant development at Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), the youngest son, Anant Ambani, was appointed as a whole-time director of the company on Friday.
The decision was announced following a board meeting, and the appointment is set to take effect from May 1, 2025. Anant will serve in this role for five years.
Anant Ambani, who has been actively associated with the company in various capacities, currently serves as a non-executive director on the RIL board. The appointment follows a recommendation from the Human Resources, Nomination
and Remuneration Committee, officials said.
This promotion of the youngest Ambani marks the family’s ongoing efforts to integrate the next generation into key leadership roles as part of a broader succession plan for the conglomerate.
Meanwhile, the eldest son, Akash Ambani, currently serves as the chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, while their daughter, Isha Ambani, is the executive director at Reliance Retail Ventures. Both siblings are also non-executive directors on the board of RIL.
