Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has unveiled new initiatives to improve its services in Puducherry, including plans to install 100 additional towers for uninterrupted connectivity. Emphasizing its commitment to affordable services, BSNL
Chairman and Managing Director Robert Ravi Gerard announced that the company has no plans to increase mobile service tariffs. He addded that this approach has resulted in 20,000 new connections for BSNL in the past three months, bringing the total number of BSNL users in Puducherry to 75,000.
Speaking at an event in Vambupattu village, Mr. Gerard launched several new services of BSNL including free internet TV,
National Wi-Fi roaming, and Fiber Internet TV.
BSNL TV now offers over 400 live TV channels, along with free access to movies, web series, and documentaries through an OTT Play feature. Wi-Fi connectivity has also been extended to five villages in Puducherry, including Mannadipattu and Vambupattu, enhancing digital accessibility in rural areas.
Puducherry currently has 130 BSNL towers, and the planned addition of 100 towers will significantly enhance network reliability and coverage. BSNL CMD also informed that the company has introduced 4G services with capabilities for future 5G upgrades in Puducherry.
