Centre yesterday rolled out the second phase sale of Bharat Brand Chana Dal through National Co-operative Consumers’ Federation of India Limited (NCCF) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED) Vans in New Delhi. 

During the flagging off ceremony of the vans, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Pralhad Joshi said that Bharat Chana Dal will be available at 70 rupees per kilogram and Chana at 58 rupees per Kg in the Kendriya Bhandars, Mobile vans, NAFED, e-commerce platforms and Big chain retails. In addition to that he said that Bharat moong dal is



priced at 107 rupees per kg and Masoor Dal at 89 Per kg. He also added that the government had earlier removed the import fee on Chana Dal due to El Nino’s effect which decreased production last year.

The Minister said that the Minimum Support Prices for the pulses have been increased for more production and NAFED and NCCF are preparing for an agreement with the farmers to buy all their produce. Apart from that he said that, earlier the Government had allotted 10 thousand Crore rupees to the Price Stabilization Fund and it is being used to keep a check on inflation.
