Coal mining capacity increased in last 3.5 years: Piyush Goyal

Coal Minister Piyush Goyal has said, coal mining capacity of the country has increased in the last three and a half years. 

Speaking at a function in New Delhi, the Minister said, it has increased from a mere 11 million tonnes to 31 million tonnes. He pointed out that there has



been an increase of nearly 20 million tonnes in mining capacity. 

Mr Goyal expressed confidence that lignite mining capacity will double by 2025. The Minister also lauded NLC India Ltd for its outstanding performance in the last three and a half years.
