New Delhi: The Coal Ministry has achieved a substantial surge in overall coal production with a growth of 8.40 percent in the first quarter of this financial year. The cumulative coal production has witnessed a significant increase, reaching over 222 million tonne as compared to around 205 million tonne during the same period last year.

Coal dispatch has also shown



an upward trend, reaching over 239 million tonne in the first quarter of this financial year, as compared to over 224 million tonne. It said, the sustained efforts of the Ministry towards enhancing coal production and ensuring seamless dispatch underscores India’s persistence in meeting its energy demands and fostering continuous economic growth.
