The Ministry of Coal has extended the last date for registration and self-evaluation for star rating of Coal and Lignite Mines from 15th to 25th of this month.  This is one of the measures to facilitate greater participation and ensure accurate self-evaluation.
 
After the notification issued for the Star Rating on May 30, this year, 377 mines have registered on the portal till 14th July. The



importance of Star Rating system is to promote sustainable mining practices and improve the overall performance of Coal and Lignite mines. 

The Ministry also encourages all eligible mines to take advantage of the extended registration period to showcase their commitment to environmental sustainability, safety, and social responsibility.
