The country has achieved significant growth of 6.48 per cent in overall coal production in August this year. The coal production reached 384.08 million tonnes (Provisional) in August compared to 360.71 million tonnes during the same period last year.

The production of Coal India Limited (CIL) rose to 290.39 million tonnes during the period of April to August this year, marking a growth of 3.17 per cent as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

production from captive and other entities also demonstrated remarkable growth of 68.99 million tonnes from April to August. This is a substantial increase of 30.56 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year.

The cumulative coal dispatch stood at 412.07 million tonnes (provisional) in August this year, compared to 391.93 million tonnes during the same period last year. This registered a growth of 5.14 per cent.
