Deadline for file ITR extended till Aug 31

The government has extended the last date for filing income tax returns for assessment year 2018-19 by a month to August 31 in view of difficulties being faced by assessees regarding legal, technical and practical difficulties.



Individuals and entities, whose accounts are not required to be audited by the I-T department, were earlier mandated to file I-T returns by July 31. The ITR forms were notified in April.
