EPFO added 15 lakh 62 thousand net members in December 2023

Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) added 15 lakh 62 thousand net members in December 2023 registering a growth of 11.97 percent in comparison to the previous month. 

The provisional payroll data of EPFO indicates that around 8.41 lakh new members have enrolled in December 2023 which is highest during the previous three months. According to the data, the enrollment of new members recorded an increase of 14.21 percent as compared to November 2023. 

The data highlighted



that more than 57 percent of the new members added in December belong to the age group of 18 to 25 years. The data shows that first-time job seekers are joining the organized sector workforce in large numbers.

Among the total new members joining EPFO in December, enrollment of the female workforce was recorded at over 2 lakhs, registering an increase of 7.57 percent compared to the previous month, which is the highest in the last three months.
