Equity mutual funds saw net inflows of over 39,687 crore rupees in January. According to data from the Association for Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) released yesterday, inflows into smallcap funds jumped 22.6 percent to over 5,720 crore rupees in January, while midcap funds saw a marginal rise of over a percent to around 5,147 crore rupees. Also, net investments into large-cap funds surged over 52 percent to more than 3,063 crore rupees. Conversely, the
sectoral or thematic funds category saw a drop in inflows.
Meanwhile, debt mutual funds saw a major turnaround, recording net inflows of over 1,28,652 crore rupees in January, compared to massive outflows of over 1,27,152 crore rupees in December last year.
The mutual fund industry’s total assets under management for the month stood at over 67.25 lakh crore rupees.
