Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that existing system of filing GST returns has been extended for another three months till the new return system is finalized.
Briefing reporters after the 26th meeting of GST Council in New Delhi on Saturday, Mr Jaitley said, GST implementation Committee has been tasked with the work of redressing the grievances caused to the taxpayers arising out of IT glitches.
He said, tax exemptions to exporters have also been extended by six months to September.
The Minister said, Electronic
way or E-way bill for movement of goods between states will be implemented from 1st of next month.
However, for intra-state movement, the E-way bill would be rolled out in a phased manner beginning 15th of April and will cover all the states by 1st of June this year.
E-way bill is an electronic way bill for movement of goods which can be generated on the GSTN (common portal).
Movement of goods of more than 50 thousand rupees in value cannot be made by a registered person without an E-way bill.
