New Delhi: Foreign investors have pumped in over 7,200 crore rupees into the Indian capital markets so far in August. According to depositories data, foreign portfolio investors or FPIs, pumped in 5,001 crore rupees into the Indian equity markets during the three week of this month. The investors also pumped in 2,244 crore rupees into the debt markets in the same period. This resulted into a total net investment of 7,245
crore into the Indian capital markets in the period under review.
According to the National Securities Depository Limited, FPIs have been net sellers in all the months of this fiscal barring June when they had invested 12,974 crore rupees into the Indian markets. FPIs withdrew 8,836 crore rupees in April, 1,958 crore rupees in May and 7,410 crore rupees in July.
