In Rajasthan, fuel pumps remained closed on Wednesday (13 September 2023) as a part of the two-day symbolic strike to protest the high value-added tax (VAT) rate on fuel. Fuel pumps will also remain closed from 10 am to 6 pm on Thursday across the State, said the Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association.

The Association had called for a two-day symbolic strike on the 13th and the 14th of



September. State President of Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association, Rajendra Singh Bhati, said the strike started at 10 am and remained closed till the evening. He also said that more than 5 thousand 700 privately run petrol pumps across the State have participated in this strike. Petrol pump operators have warned of an indefinite strike from September 15 if VAT is not reduced.
