The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s Directorate of Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management (EV&DM) sealed five commercial establishments on Saturday.

A shopping mall in Ameerpet, a film production and distribution company in Jubilee Hills, another film production company in Madhapur, a construction firm in Abids and a hospital in Miyapur were sealed following non-payments of the penalties imposed by the EVDM.

Necessary action was initiated on the said

establishments as they were flouting the advertisement policy of the GHMC and the penalties imposed ranged from Rs 2.1 lakh to Rs 38 lakh.

As per the advertisement policy, advertisement elements above 15 feet from ground level are illegal and advertisements with flashing lights or non-static illumination will be permitted only after clearance from the authorities.

In 2020, the existing advertisement policy was modified to ensure enhanced public safety and to improve the ambiance of the city.
