Technology giant Google announced Appsperiments - a series of app experiments aiming to bring new, fun, and useful camera features to smartphone users across the world.

There are more than two billion smartphone devices in the world and almost every one of them comes with a camera. Considering this fact, Google released three amazing photography apps.

The new applications are Storyboard which is only for Android, Selfissimo! which is both for Android and iOS, and Scrubbies which is exclusively for iOS.

According to Google, this project was partially inspired by Motion Stills, an app that the company released in 2016 on iOS, and this year on Android. According to PhoneArena, "Motion Stills uses automatic stabilisation and rendering technology to create smooth GIFs and time lapses out of your photos and videos."

These new apps will be relying on various technologies which Google is currently working on, including person and object recognition, stylization algorithms, and advanced image encoding/decoding solutions.

In Storyboard, you can shoot short videos for a few seconds and then the app automatically

pulls out six frames. It lays them onto a comic-book style frame and applies one of six visual styles to the frames. You have a choice of saving the comic or to refresh and get a completely new one. Google says there are 1.6 trillion different possibilities to try out.

Selfissimo! is an automated selfie app which takes black and white pictures every time you pause to pose, so with everytime you strike a pose, a photo is automatically taken by the camera. You need to tap the screen to start the session, and another to tap ends it.

Scrubbies is the one which is only available for iOS at this time. Scrubbies allows you to play out your DJ fantasy, but with video. Users can easily manipulate the speed and direction of a video playback to make video loops that highlight actions, capture funny faces, and replay moments.

As Google explains, "Shoot a video in the app and then remix it by scratching it like a DJ. Scrubbing with one finger plays the video. Scrubbing with two fingers captures the playback so you can save or share it."

All three applications are free to download, and you can find them on Apple Store and Play Store.
