Government yesterday denied any shortage of urea fertilizer in the country. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Chemical and Fertilizer Minister Sadananda Gowda said, his ministry is in touch with State Chief Secretaries on daily basis over the issue and there is no scarcity anywhere.
He said the crisis is related to distributions by the states and this is being politicized by
them blaming the Centre.
Mr Gowda said, all states are given sufficient quantities of urea and rejected the allegations that the Centre has reduced the supply to Madhya Pradesh leading to urea crisis.
He asserted that sufficient urea is being supplied to the state. Shortage of urea is also reported from Rajasthan.
