Government rejects media reports about imposition of GST on Gangajal

The government has rejected the media reports that GST has been imposed on Gangajal. In a social media post, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, CBIC said that puja Samagri including Gangajal is exempt under GST. It added that GST on puja Samagri was discussed



in detail in GST Council meetings in 2017 and it was decided to keep them in the exempt list. 

CBIC said, all the puja Samagri items have been exempt since the introduction of GST.
