Govt collects Rs.3,91,529 cr as advance tax during current fiscal

The government has collected three lakh 91 thousand 529 crore rupees as advance tax till 16th of this month during the current fiscal compared to three lakh 52 thousand 899 crore rupees in the corresponding period last year. 

In a written reply the Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar said the



advance tax received post demonetization has increased.He said in the previous financial year, amount of seven lakh 42 thousand 12 crore rupees was collected from direct taxes after refunds. In the current financial year, seven lakh 65 thousand 525 crore rupees have been collected as net direct taxes upto 16th of this month.
