The Centre has extended the deadlines for filing of various Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns for taxpayers registered in 14 cyclone-hit districts in Odisha. 

State Information and Public Relations Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh said the date for filing  GST returns for April 2019 has been extended from May 20 to June 20.

Secretary in the Union Finance Ministry, Debasish Panda,  reviewed the banking service situation in the cyclone-affected districts yesterday. 

The meeting held in Bhubaneswar laid emphasis on the revival of banking and insurance services in the affected areas. Mr Panda said, barring Puri district, 99 per cent of banks are functional in Odisha.
