Index of Industrial Production for July 2018 higher by 6.6% as compared to last year

Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production, IIP for the month of July 2018 was 6.6 percent higher compared to same period last year. 

Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation said, in a release, that for the month of July 2018, the Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining sector registered 3.7 percent growth, Manufacturing registered 7.0 percent and Electricity sector registered 6.7 percent growth as compared to



July last year. 

As per Use-based classification, the growth rates in July 2018 over July 2017 are 6.9 percent in Primary goods, 3.0 percent in Capital goods and 8.4 percent in Infrastructure/ Construction Goods. 

However, Manufacture of paper and paper products, Printing and reproduction of recorded media and machinery and equipment have shown the negative growth.
