New Delhi: Union Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that India is focussing on three hundred million ton annual steel production by 2030. He said, presently the annual steel production is around one hundred fifty million tonnes. Mr Scindia said, India has already emerged as the second largest steel producer in the world and the country's per capita steel consumption has gone up from 57
kilogram to 78 kilogram during the last nine years.
The Minister was addressing the fourth Global Zinc Summit -2023 in New Delhi on Thursday. Mr Scindia added that the government has announced a huge capital expenditure of ten lakh crore rupees for infrastructure development which has opened tremendous investment opportunities across the sectors.
