Industry bodies have hailed the General Budget as growth oriented and progressive as the Director General of CII Chandrajit Banerjee said the budget continues to focus on important measures initiated by the government and is focused on both consumption and investment demand. Mr. Banerjee also said the fiscal prudence of the budget is well appreciated.
Secretary General of FICCI, Dr Didar Singh said the budget will strengthen the economic muscle
of the country. He said it has touched all sections of the society.ASSOCHAM President Sunil Kanoria termed it as a truly workman and business-like Budget. He said, it has given focus on rural economy, small and medium enterprises, small income tax payers and importantly bringing reforms in political funding.
Mr. Kanoria said the Budget also removes uncertainty with regard to long term capital gains tax on equity.
