New Delhi: The Income Tax Department has registered a record seven crore 65 lakh Income Tax Returns (ITRs) filed for 2023-24 till the 31st of October this year. The Finance Ministry said, it is more than eleven per cent higher as compared to the six crore 85 lakh ITRs filed for 2022-23. It said, that out of the total ITRs filed for



2023-24, more than 96 percent have already been verified and processed. 

The Ministry said, that during the peak filing days, the e-filing portal successfully handled the traffic providing a seamless experience to the taxpayers and tax professionals for filing Forms and ITRs.
